Email filtering
This is a great tool to protect against spam and malicious emails. Like every product it isn't perfect but it does a good job and creates a regular list of emails that have been blocked. I think the frequency of reports can be adjusted but we run a report every 8 hours which is good to take note of false positives but 3 reports a day is a lot to manage. Overall there are not a lot of false positives and I would say that close to 95% of the time it is correct with what it blocks.

- Allows users to release low threat items but items considered more risky need to be released by an admin
- Unsure how to train it to release false positives
- PP blocks 5-10 emails per day which are spam or malicious
- I only get a small number of emails per week which are spam
- The only malicious emails I receive are from our internal security team which bypasses the PP threat protection
We needed a proven email security tool, and Proofpoint was always coming up. We are protecting 5 organizations over 5 countries with the cloud offering and have found no issues so far.
Proofpoint is used across the entire organization and is centrally controlled by an international IT team.
The previous product did not give half as many options and had a very simple mail filter. Proofpoint has addressed a lot of issues we didn't even realize were problems at first!

Proofpoint Review
Proofpoint is being used across my entire organization as a line of defense against everyday spam and more elicit scams. We also use it for URL filtering and web page verification. At the time of purchase, it was mainly seen as a replacement for an older and clunkier spam solution that we didn't love. Over time, it has evolved into a bigger portion of our cybersecurity.

We use Proofpoint Threat Protection in conjunction with Microsoft 365. While Microsoft does have some very nice email security features that are getting better every day, we do think that Proofpoint is a value add and have no inclination to discontinue use or look for another product at this time.

A great product if your budget can afford it!
Our entire organization uses Proofpoint Advanced Threat Protection as our email security platform. It addresses the issue of hundreds of spam/malicious attacks we receive as a company on a daily basis.
- Spam filtering.
- Automatic retrieval of malicious emails that have gotten through the filter but were later detected using sample data across all the organizations Proofpoint has as customers.
- There isn't a convenient one-source portal area yet for all Proofpoint products if you utilize more than one.
- Our servers can sometimes be slow when loading pages, after placing tickets if the speeds go back up, support doesn't really do a deep dive on what's happening.
- Less spoofing emails (Not 100% though).
- More protection against malicious emails with the use of TRAP.
Above and beyond AppRiver. We had numerous spoof and email spam attacks get through on such a consistent basis with AppRiver that it drove our business to find a different email security solution.
I used Barracuda more than 4-5 years ago. Proofpoint is similar in quality though I can't say too much as the Barracuda platform I had experience with is most likely not up to date with their current product offering.
